What Is IMM 0016E?

IMM 0016E is a Statutory Declaration from the Parent of a Minor. It’s most commonly used when:

• One parent is authorizing immigration on behalf of a minor
  
• A non-accompanying parent needs to confirm consent for sponsorship or travel
  
• Guardianship or custody needs to be proven to IRCC
  
  

The form includes critical legal language and must be signed under oath in front of a notary or commissioner of oaths.

• You are sponsoring a child under 18
  
• The other parent is not traveling but must give permission
